Q: Why are there different versions of Footprinter™?
A: Each version of Footprinter™ is based on the same software system, but contains different conversion factor data. The Office Footprinter™ is the most generic product and designed to be used by any office based organsiation no matter what market sector it is in. On the other hand the Construction Footprinter™ version contains conversion factor data relating to materials and equipment used in construction projects and would be of no value to a company not directly involved in the design or construction of buildings and civil utilities.

A. Footprinter™ is not a calculator, it is a sophisticated carbon accounting tool which enables organisations to accurately measure, model and manage their carbon and ecological footprint, save, load and compare datasets and create professional reports.
Q: What Countries will Footprinter™ work in?
A: The data in the trial version of Footprinter™ is calibrated for use within the UK. If you require another Country version then please contact us. partners@bestfootforward.com

A: Yes - these features are available in the full version of Footprinter™.
Q: Do I need any special software or hardware to run Footprinter™?
A: Footprinter™ requires Adobe® Flash® Player 9 to be loaded on your machine. You are prompted to load this if it is not already installed on your computer. Most computers will already have Flash Player installed as this is an industry-standard application. If you are unsure, go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/

A: Yes - these features are available in the full version of Footprinter™.
Q: Can Footprinter™ calculate ecological footprints as well as carbon footprints?
A: Yes - the full version does both. We believe that - as more people recognise the importance of measuring the use of resources other than fossil fuels - ecological footprint analysis will become essential.
Q. Can multiple people in my organization have individual usernames?
A. Yes, when you subscribe to the full version of Footprinter™, we create a separate instance of the application that is dedicated to your company and you can choose how many usernames you wish to purchase.
Q. Is my data secure?
A. The full version of Footprinter™ includes unique password protection. Only those who have access to your personal login details can edit your data. If you forget your password or need to change it then please contact Best Foot Forward.

A: The free version of Footprinter™ is provided 'as is' without support although we would be very pleased to receive your comments and thoughts on how we can improve future releases. A. Best Foot Forward have been analysing carbon and ecological footprints for 10 years and over that period have amassed a comprehensive database from multiple sources including national and international standards, government guidance documents and academic research.

A. Yes, if you subscribe to Footprinter™ you will be using our dedicated hosting servers which are designed to ensure consistent high levels of performance and reliability.
Q: I need conversion factor data for something that isn't included in the Footprinter™ database, can I add it?
A: It is possible for us to add custom data for you, however in order to maintain the integrity of the data produced by Footprinter™ Best Foot Forward would have to research the conversion factor and ensure that it is accurate. We would be happy to discuss your requirements as it may well be that we have the data already but it is not relevant for any of the standard Footprinter™ versions.
